Tend Block

Terms of use

The plain version: Tend Block is licensed to you through the Mac App Store, Pro is a subscription you can cancel any time, and blocking is done as well as we can, without guarantees.

The licence

Tend Block is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA). These terms add to it; where the two differ, the Standard EULA applies. The licensor is Mohamed Elsawy.

Tend Block Pro

What blocking can and can't do

Tend Block uses Safari's own content blocking and rule lists we maintain. Websites change all the time, so some ads, pop-ups or distractions will get through, and a rule can occasionally hide something a page needs. Allowed sites and Pause are there for those moments, and Report an Issue tells us what to fix. Tend Block is provided as it is, without a promise that it will block any particular thing or work with every website.

Answering a cookie pop-up (Pro) picks one of the site's own options for you. It's your choice, made on your behalf; how a site honours it is up to the site.

Open-source software

Tend Block Helper includes DuckDuckGo's autoconsent, used unmodified under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Its licence and source link are in the app, under Settings, Open-source licences.

Changes

We may update these terms, for example when Tend Block gains new features. The current version is always on this page, with its date. Using Tend Block after a change means you accept the new terms.
