Privacy policy
Tend Block is made to keep things off your screen, not to collect anything about you. This page explains exactly what it keeps, where, and why.

In short
- No account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- The app makes no network connections of its own. Nothing you browse is sent to us or anyone else.
- Your settings and counts stay on your Mac, and deleting the app deletes them.
Who we are
Tend Block is made by Mohamed Elsawy, who publishes the Tend family of Mac apps. For anything about privacy, email support@tendmac.app.
What stays on your Mac
Tend Block keeps the following in its own storage on your Mac, shared only between the app and its Safari extensions:
- Your settings: which blockers are on, whether blocking is paused, your allowed sites, your own block list, and how cookie pop-ups should be answered.
- Counts: how many page elements were hidden in each category, how many cookie pop-ups were answered, how many pages had something hidden, and the same numbers per day for the last 60 days. These are numbers only: no site names, addresses or times.
None of this leaves your Mac. Reset Counters in Settings clears the counts, and deleting Tend Block removes everything.
The blockers
Tend Block's three content blockers give Safari a list of rules, and Safari applies them itself. The blockers don't see the pages you visit, the addresses you go to or anything you type.
Tend Block Helper
Tend Block Helper is an optional Safari extension. You choose whether to switch it on and which websites it may run on, in Safari's settings. On those websites it:
- counts the page elements the blockers hid, for the totals on Home;
- with Pro, answers cookie pop-ups with the choice you picked, using DuckDuckGo's open-source autoconsent, which runs inside Safari;
- checks the website's name against your allowed sites, and whether blocking is paused, by asking the Tend Block app on your Mac.
It doesn't store the sites you visit or send them anywhere, and it does nothing in private windows.
Purchases
Tend Block Pro is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never see your name, Apple Account or payment details. Apple gives developers sales reports that don't identify you. The app asks the App Store whether you have an active subscription, so it can switch on Pro features.
Reporting an issue
Report an Issue in the app writes an email in your own mail app, with the page address and problem you entered, the Tend Block and macOS versions, and whether blocking was paused. Nothing is sent unless you send that email yourself. We use what you send only to look into the problem and reply, and delete it when it's no longer needed.
This website
tendblock.app uses no cookies, analytics or scripts from other sites. It's served by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the site from abuse. We don't receive or keep visitor logs.
Children
Tend Block doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If a change ever meant collecting something new, the app would ask you first.
